Alcohol and Adulteration
Other cases of "non-conforming samples"
Some samples are qualified as "non-conforming" for other reasons as well. Most common are:
- if the drink has been left open and has gone flat, and has less alcohol degrees that those indicated on the label
- if the labeling is incomplete
The encouraging conclusion is that adulteration in Greece is mainly limited in low budget areas or in places with occasional clients, and the most common adulteration form is the refilling of brand bottles with cheaper drinks.
These few adulteration cases should of course disappear. Undoubtedly, consumers should only get authentic and good quality products, and this is the principle to be followed by all related parties, public and private.
The consumer, on his side, should be selective to as what drinks he consumes and where he drinks them. The ten points of the smart drinker will help you protect yourselves. |
