Alcohol and Health

Pregnancy

Ideally, pregnant women should not drink any alcohol at all. If, however, you have chosen to drink, you should limit alcohol consumption to 1-2 units per week and always after having informed and consulted your doctor. Excessive alcohol consumption during pregnancy could endanger the embryo.

Of course, the same is valid for breast feeding women. Alcohol is transferred in milk and affects the baby.

If you are trying to conceive, you should also be very cautious with alcohol. Consult your doctor and do not exceed 1-2 alcohol units per week. It is also important for your partner to reduce his alcohol consumption, because alcohol affects the sperm quality and excessive consumption could lead to impotence.
